Malinda J. Morrison
Malinda Morrison is a Financial Resource Coordinator II at Barnes Jewish Hospital where she has worked for 3 years specializing in assisting the low income, uninsured population in applying for Medicaid benefits. During open enrollment, Malinda serves as a certified application counselor for the Marketplace insurance(Obamacare).
Malinda formerly worked at the Family Support Division for 5 years as an Eligibility Specialist assisting the same population with governmental benefits such as food stamps, child care, temporary assistance, and Medicaid.
Two years after graduation from the University of MO-St. Louis where she earned Bachelor’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Organizational Behavior, she started her career in the field of social services. It is in this field where she unveiled her driven willingness to help others in their current life situations and received great joy in seeing people move forward and become successful in their lives when they saw no possible way of doing so.
In conjunction with her full-time employment, she also served as an employee of Mers Goodwill as a job coach assisting people with disabilities become gainfully employed.
She also serves as a board member of The Village, a not-for-profit, mentoring program for boys 13-18. In addition to her professional responsibilities, she is also a devoted member of Prince of Peace Church where she serves on several ministries. Lastly she is a wife to the founder of the Village, Kenan Morrison and mother to their 11 month old daughter.
